We are a group of young people dedicated to following Christ, serving others, and sharing God's love through music.
Music:
Our musical group is the Southern Maine Youth Ensemble. We have been playing together for more than seven years, and have been supporting an orphanage in Zimbabwe, Africa, through the proceeds from cd sales.
Periodically, we hold an Evensong at the Baptist Church in Topsham, ME. These are comprised of various musical selections, ranging from classical numbers to hymns, interspersed with scripture readings. Evensongs start at 7:00 pm, with prelude at 6:45. Portland Peace Festival
On Sabbath the 14th of July, we went down to the Portland Peace festival. We had decided to go and find a relatively un-busy sector of the park and play some songs, sing some hymns, and read some passages from the Bible relating to peace. God blessed our efforts, and we were able to give out Bible study cards to a few people who were interested. Here are a couple of pictures from that afternoon.
